A Nonprofit Advocating for POW/MIA Awareness and Veteran Issues in Helena
The Montana POW/MIA Awareness Association is a non-profit organization dedicated to bringing POW/MIA awareness and veteran issues to the forefront. Founded in 2014, our grassroots organization consists of veterans, concerned citizens, and dedicated volunteers committed to our cause. Our primary mission is to honor the 53 Montana POW/MIA personnel by maintaining and posting flags along Highway 287, ensuring their sacrifices are never forgotten.
In addition to our flag-posting efforts, we organize the annual Montana Ride to Remember—a poignant 183-mile journey from Helena to West Yellowstone. This ride serves as a powerful tribute to POW/MIA personnel and raises awareness of their plight. We also participate in other veteran-related events throughout the year, furthering our mission to honor and support those who have served our nation.
As a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, transparency and accountability are paramount to our operations. All funds raised through membership dues, donations, and sales go directly towards maintaining flags, organizing events, and supporting veteran causes as outlined in our bylaws. We do not seek personal gain; rather, our focus remains steadfast on fulfilling our mission and advocating for the issues that matter most to our veterans and their families.
